Membership of the Association shall be open to any person or school governing body who is eligible for such membership and who subscribes to its aims and objectives.
• School governing body in good standing shall have complied with the undermentioned statements:


3..1 Completed and signed affiliation form.
3..2 Paid the once off affiliation fee determined by the NEC.

3..3 Paid the annual subscription fee determined by the NEC.
• Individual membership in good standing shall be a community member who is interested to
participate in the Association, who complied with the undermentioned statements:
3..1 Completed and signed the affiliation form.
3..2 Paid a once off affiliation fee determined by the NEC.
3..3 Paid monthly or annual subscription fee determined by the NEC.

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

An application form for membership of the Association must be completed and submitted to the branch. The branch will then send it to the REC who will forward it to the PEC and subsequently forward it to the NEC for approval or rejection. The NEC may refuse an application for membership on reasonable grounds, but the applicant so refused is entitled to appeal against the decision to the next Congress or the National General Council which will confirm of reverse the decision of the NEC.

TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

3..1 Any member may resign from the Association after giving one month notice to the secretariat.


3..2 Should a member, in the opinion of the structure conduct herself or himself in a manner which is detrimental to the interests of the Association and its members, her/his membership and the benefits arising there from may be suspended, or she/he may be expelled from the Association.


3..3 Before any such sanctions are invoked, the relevant committee shall invoke disciplinary hearing.


3..4 If a member acts in a manner that is detrimental to the code of conduct, the BEC, REC or PEC shall recommend for the termination of the membership to the NEC.


3..5 The member may appeal in writing the decision to the next higher structure and relevant committee with jurisdiction. The appeal shall be lodged with the Secretary of the structure in writing within seven days upon receipt of sanction.

3..6 A member may further exercise a final appeal opportunity to the National Appeals Committee which would take recommendations to the NEC which decision shall be final.

The powers of the Association are vested in the following organs of supremacy.

• National Congress
• National General Council
• National Executive Committee
• National Working Committee

• Our affiliated members will be linked to our strategic partners for information sharing.
• Provide our members with ideas on how to fund-raise for their respective schools.
• Represent our members every time they need us ie: During conflicts between SGB, School Management Team, District or Department official etc.
• Ensuring that our members add value in the school they serve.
• Develop and empower them with knowledge relating to legislations and policies.
• Intervene on conflicts affecting schools, parents, learners and the community.
